Accessory is based on Ukrainian bus stop from Stadnya village, Poltava Region.
This project presents bus stops designed by Ukrainian artists. Each bus stop is a unique artwork. Most of them are now ruined or destroyed. At that time, unofficial art was recognized as freethinking and persecuted, so artists had to implement their art at bus stops in remote villages, where control by Party was weaker. Professional authors have invested in mosaic panels with their thoughts, ideas and visions of the beauty of Ukrainian nature, sacred Ukrainian symbols, stories of the past and future to leave an incredible creative legacy.
The idea to transfer mosaic drawings arose out of admiration for the very phenomenon of mosaic bus stops and a desire to attract attention and preserve the art. Cushion with mosaic are line of gifts, that contain the cultural and artistic experience of many generations of Ukrainians.
